Two weeks pre-Easter 1999, 25 members left Shekinah Methodist Church because of irreconcilable differences with the leadership. We wanted to start a place of worship of our own. Two churches from Ipoh offered to adopt us. After much prayer, God led us to the CAC District Superintendent, Rev. Kok Sing Chong who willingly agreed to install us as a Preaching Point under the Methodist umbrella. We found a corner shoplot just 2 rows away from our present premises. The rental was RM1000.00 monthly. The renovation costs amounted RM100,000.00 which included the setting up of an altar, pulpit, lectern, musical instruments & chairs etc. renovations were completed in a record time of 12 days, thanks to Lydia Chen & her team of workers. Meanwhile a team of delegates was sent by the CAC HQ KL to meet us. They persuaded us to return to Shekinah but we declined.
